In Kabbalah, the Star of David can symbolize the connection between God, Israel, and the Torah.
It can also symbolize the relationship between God and people or the seven virtues (kindness, severity, harmony, perseverance, splendor, foundation, and royalty). The Star of David has seven compartments.
The seven compartments are also indicative of the what would later be revealed as the seven churches in Christendom. It also represents the seven days of creation.
In my Christian faith we have seven synonyms for God:
- Life
- Truth
- Love
- Soul
- Spirit
- Mind
- Principle
All of these echo the Star of David.
Jesus human lineage can be traced back to the house of David which is in parallel to (divine) lineage; hence why Jesus was intermittently referred to as: “Son of David”.
Man’s inhumanity to man violates all of the sacred teachings from ancient world to the present. “Thou shalt have no other gods” means that we must refrain from the temptation of thinking we can be the author of good or for good. God is good and man has the capacity for good and goodness. Cruelty abounds where there is a lack of reverence or adherence to a divine afflatus. Those who have become cruel have become so because they themselves perhaps have not been educated in love but rather in hate. They also believe there is something to be had or gained through taking from others. We own nothing in this world and we will take nothing in this world because this world has nothing worth taking.
If the prayer of one can save a city it behooves all of us to become closer to God; to the source which has brought all of us into existence. In the efforts to have our prayers manifest as deeds in good will towards others let us remember in humility that a silent prayer wether in the form of a petition or affirmation is louder and stronger than a thousand voices shouting and clamoring aloud. God hears our prayers before we even ask because he knows all who speak from the head and the heart.
From Ecclesiastes 9:15:
"Wisdom is better than strength. But the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.”
Jonah 3:8-10
Let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who knows? God may turn and relent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we may not perish.”
When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
I Corinthians 13:1
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”
